Moving to a different home, and my cat behavior changes

Hello, i have a hamaliyan cat she is one year old now, i had her since she was two. I live in a second floor apartment with my husbend.
But since i had her i always take her with me to my parents house ( has three floors).
She love it there always find something to play with.
I use to take her everyday then when she grow up i start taking her less than everyday. She started to seem more cautious there but sill she loved it there.
One day my parent got a kitten and i took her and when they saw each other the small kitten screamed very laud at her and she hide the whole day ( i made a mistake by intreducing them this way i knew that later but i wasn't carful because i thought since he is a kitten thing will go smothley, i was wrong)
i stoped taking her to my parents house since i tried twice after that and failed. Since then my parents gave the kitten to a firend but when i take her she still uncomfortable she wont even let me pet her when we go there.
Anyway now i got devorced and i moved back with my parents. Its been 3 weeks or more now.
She is better than she used to, she explore the house and sleep in the basment and some other places but she is aggressive toward everyone if they come to pet her she will hit there hand (not using her claws) but still in an aggressive way.
Also she is not the cat i'm used to she wont come and sit in my lap or let me pet her i'm only allowed to play with her, even though when at night she sleep with me in my bed and purr when i pet her sometime but when we get out of my room she dont want anything to do with me. :( i tought i will give her time and everything will be ok but now i'm scared my cat will never treat me the same or wont be friendly with anyone again, any suggestions? Is going to a vet will help with anything? Did any of u had the same experience ?

Cats are very different little personalities, aren't they?

Our Miss Teia was the opposite of your kitty, much of a hermit who was not into social interaction when we lived in northern Illinois, and is Queen of the House and a lap buddy here in southern Maryland.

If it is available where you live, might try Feliway diffusers. It's a product that simulates the smell in the air of cat pheromones they associate with a safe place.

Yes they are :,)
thank u so much!! I will look it up i hope we have it here. Hopefully it will work :)
Pipa! I love your answer! Southern MD born and raised, well born in DC raised mainly Southern MD. Thanks so much for sharing. I think the cat smells the kitten and is feeling threatened. Ftooshcat brought a stranger in to the relationship, might do it again cat is afraid. LOL I keep telling my husband they remember, he says they forget as soon as incident is over. I don't think so. I am going to look for Feliway diffusers, interesting! Thank you both!!
