Mr. Hunter has been unwell for a few days now.

He's better than he was a week ago, but I thought I was going to lose him.  He's such a wonderful cat.  I was crying when I found him feeling punky and uninterested in eating food.  I took him to the vet three times in as many days.  So far, the only thing they do know is that he had a fever and one type of white blood cell from the CBC was too low.  The doctor has him on an appetite stimulant, which is helping.  He is on an antibiotic, an anti-nausea medication, a kitty anti-inflammation medication.  They had him on a liquid pain medication.  He doesn't seem to be in pain any more, because he is jumping up and down off of furniture and walking normally now.  Hunter is FIV+, but the doctor is concerned that there could be something else going on besides the infection.  Pancreatitis was thrown in as a suggestion from the vet's office, too.  Hunter is responding to treatment, but he still isn't back to feeling like himself yet.  The possibility of some kind of blood cancer was also thrown in there.  The x-ray did not reveal any tumors, though, so none of the doctors are sure exactly what is wrong with my precious kitty.

I owe my brother money for Hunter's medical expenses and have set up a Go Fund Me page.  I'm not sure if I'm allowed to put the exact address for "Hunter's Medical Expenses" on GoFundMe or not.  You might be able to find it yourself if you're interested and able to help.  Every little bit helps.  

In any case, send good thoughts that Hunter will start feeling back to his old self soon.

Hey FM, it's been a very long time; nice to see you here but sorry for the reason.  Any more news from the vet about Hunter's condition?  I just saw your status update before I posted here, so I'm assuming you might not have anymore news to share.  

Just the meds alone can make kitty feel unwell.  You know?  

Oh, and no, you cannot post a GoFundMe link.  MH will automatically be alerted and the link deleted.  I know this because when I posted my husbands GoFundMe link a year ago in a journal, I was notified that wasn't allowed.  Actually, thinking back, that's not true, I wasn't notified, the link just disappeared leaving me to wonder what on Earth happened.  A Mod finally pm'd me to explain when I tried posting it a second time!

Yeah, I still don't have any complete answers, but at least the antibiotic seems to be working, because Hunter is perkier than he was a few days ago.

Today Hunter went out on the balcony for an hour to sun himself.  When he first got sick he sure wouldn't have done this.  I thought I was going to lose him.  Thankfully, my brother stepped in to let me borrow the money needed for all the vet visits he's been to so far.

I will be taking Hunter in on Wednesday for a follow up.  So, I won't know if the vet will want to put him on more antibiotics until then.  

I will post more pictures of Hunter.  He has a fan club in the real world.  He is very photogenic, too.
