'Bout useful miracles:
1- Loreena's castration was for free- no one never understood why (that vet that did it,she is weird...)
2- Just got the last promo pack of Frontiline Cats when I needed it most
Keep praying girls,its working...
Thank you all for those kind words,If girls were americans they will find great homes, for sure.Like yours...
Universities are not a good place for this kind of ads here - and I'm out of one for a long time already. But I can put those at vet clinics or pet shops. The vet that saw Loreena before the atual one asked twice about the girls that time - when I was sure she already had a home!
Well, lets wait, pray and see - Im not doing it by now yet, I keep hoping we can stay together, miracles happen sometimes
Just hope this waiting time do not make her adoption- if need- harder ( I mean finding a owner for an older cat,not about personal issues )
About antiworms in general;
Here they are sold freely at veterinary drugstores, pet shops, feed stores and people generaly do not care in going to vets for a prescription or so,specially if its not the first time
Guess you could do the same,or even buy those on line (if the price is worth of...)
Hi hon, I'm sad to read your current post. I know taking care of all three girls has been rough and finding the money, a challenge. Do you have anywhere (like the university you've mentioned) you could put up a sign asking if someone would like to take Joy? Just a thought. I know it's hard even thinking of giving her up and it's so kind of you to want the best for all the girls even if that means giving up Joy. So sorry, Apple. I wish so much, I could help you in some way. I only have Jade and if it were possible and considering your situation, I'd take her in a minute. Jade's not a mean cat and likes other cats...usually female cats. My prayers to you, too, that someone comes into your life that would love a well loved and well cared for kitten named Joy.
About the Drontal. I'll check into that. I just assumed it had to come from my vet, but I'll see if it's over the counter, here. Thanks for the tip :)
Oh appple I feel so sad for you, you are trying so hard to make a good life for these girls and under money problems yourself, that is so incredibly unselfish of you!! I know how much you love these girls and how hard it would be to give any one of them up.....I hope that doesn't need to happen but if so I know you would make sure that it was to a very loving home.....I pray for help and miracles to come your way!!!
Correction - the name of the antiworm vet suggested first was HELFINE -and from the search I did is THE SAME CHEMICAL PRODUCT,maybe in different dosage,I didnt checked it
Sorry,Loren will use that one left :(
Mothers have do do sacriffices,sometimes...
Just bought a promo pack that came with 2 blisters for a price of one and a half.It was helpful,no doubt but is still quite expensive to buy one more.
I wish I could tell you all something funny, girls just completed 6 mo, but Im too much down today, seems like the things in general will never work fine...
Started wondering if I shouldnt try to find a place for Joy,does she have chances somewhere? Will I be able to keep going? Is it fair?
Who will love and care my black furry balls if I was not the one?
The cats are crazy but if you compare them with my family members getting old (phisicaly or mentally) , they are all furry angels
PS Cant you just buy the Drontal somewhere instead of taking Jade to the vet ?
Why does he needs give it to you?
I mean, you already now the dosis and so...
Drontal is what Jade has been given. Seems to work well. It's time for her to be dewormed, too. I hope our vet will just give it to me instead of making us come in and pay for an office visit.
LOVE hearing your stories about the family, Apple. The way you describe everything is really cute...even poo and worms :)
p.s. yeah, don't take a chance again with the "dog" Frontline.
They have individual litters but they dont know this, so all of them use always the one they believe is the cleanest.I do my best for all of them really to be.
Loreena has one mount of common sand outside just for her,she likes that when its dry,and I supervise and clean that once a day. From what I've seen her poo is ok and i saw no worm signs
I have to allow kittens to be half outsiders all well but I'm still afraid of...
Lucky is afraid of, Joy is crazy about...
S...the stuff i was writing just disappeared...
Yes, vet said I should do it again and its done.Poor Loreena got hers as well, she never showed signs of worms but its taking that again cos we need medicate everybody.
He had prescribed an unknow (for me at least ) Eufine Gatos, but I could not find that anywhere except in his clinic (far away and it was expensiver than the others antiworms as well) so I called him back and he changed to ENDAL
This ENDAL is pretty the same as the previous DRONTAL,same formulation and dosages the only difference is the pill being smaller :-)
I'm counting with the possibility it works better now cos last time I underestimated their weight and can be given an insufficient dosage.
Not give the whole pill yet, however.Maybe I should have done it - but I dont thing they got 800gr,1100gr more since the surgery day
About the fleas,I cannot notice any,but its always a possibility :(
Theres still some Frontline left from the previous try but is not enough for all of them. Not sure if I have courage to try that FRONTILINE DOGS scheme again -
My kitten has worms also. She is an indoor cat. The vet said that being indoors doesn't matter if they have fleas. The dewormer from the vet was only $10 and they didn't even see her, just gave us the medicine. Hope this helps.
Yeah that’s a tricky one Opus. I’m not sure either. I do know that these cats must be treated or the diarrhea and gastrointestinal problems (just to mention a few) will start to appear and get worse. I agree with you. Loreena could have given it to them if they use the same litter box and Loreena goes outside. In my opinion, Loreena should be kept on de-wormers while she remains an indoor/outdoor cat. What a messy situation.
Is Loreena still doing some outdoors hunting?....if she has picked up worms than using the same little as the kids they could have become reinfected.
I'm not sure if the Vet will think its wise to keep redoing the worm medication...what do you think PK?
What?? They have worms now? Aren't they indoor kitties? Yes please, keep trying to contact the vet. You definitely don't need that right now.
I think that another dose of de-wormer may be in order.
If kitties are otherwise strong and healthy; why not?
Anita and I have been very lucky, 8 cats over almost 28 years...no worms ,-)
However, Chesapeake does have very dirty ears...
Take care - Pip
