The Kaopectate dosage came from a vet in the community. It is not her reg vet who lives in Simpsonville,SC.
update...
can't find the info I was looking for re purina diet, however I do suggest you feed something different b/c it may well still be diet related. try the boiled chicken with broth, its what I use when mine get upset tummies...just be sure to get all the tiny bones out
found the info on kaopectate. ...its very confusing. they say to use for cats and dogs, than on the box in the right hand side it says not safe for use in cats unless by Veterinary advice...the ingredient salicylate is essentially aspirn...and this is very bad for cats!!!! so plz discontinue

CML has given you good advice.....I just want to add that you plz take her OFF the purina diet, I'm not on my main computer right now so can't check back at some tags, but I do believe some of the purina foods have been recalled.
She has to eat, offer her canned foods...even boiled chicken and broth!!! This is very digestible and the extra broth will really help with fluid intake
You need to stop the kaopectate.....again I do not have access to my info, but there is an ingredient that is NOT good for cats, I know you are in an emergency situation an doing the best you can, so sorry for all your problems, they always seem to come in buckets
This kitty does really need to see a Vet, they will give something for the loose stools if still required
But the iv hydration and eating are the most critical right now
Sending you both my prayers, plz keep us updated
Hi JR,
Vomiting and loose stools cause severe dehydration in pets. She may be drinking water but she may also need a little help from IV fluids. Dehydration is serious and yes it can cause her to not eat. We all know that cats must not go long without food or liver problems ensue.
I would suggest you find an emergency Animal Hospital near you and take her there. They will know what to look for and will usually work out some sort of payment plan. Also Veterinary Schools are another good choice. They treat animals sometimes for free because it is like a teaching lesson.
I am sorry to say unless she has some medical attention it will be hard to find out HOW to help her. Check these alternatives, hopefully they will help.
Good luck and hoping your little one feels better.
Sincerely,
CML
