Cat losing weight

So we switched from Wellness core to Fromms, because our cat was throwing up almost everyday. After the switch she rarely throws up,seems more energetic, even seems more affectionate. She also lost weight, should I be worried? She was overweight before,  but I think she is at the perfect weight now. I just want to know can switching a food cause a cat to loose weight?

We feed her Fromm Surf & Turf, & Gamebird.

Hi, I am glad that your cat isn't throwing up anymore.  But, could you please answer my other questions above so that we can get a clearer picture of what's going on.  They were important questions.

Hi Emily,

I agree with Zodiacqueen. Glad to hear that your kitty isn't throwing up
anymore, but she was throwing up before, so I strongly suggest you
take her to your vet asap.  You say she's not throwing up anymore,
but she's losing weight on the new food. I would definitely make an
appointment with your vet through your vet's receptionist and take you
kitty in to be seen by your vet.  Your vet needs to know that your cat
was throwing up every day before you changed the cat's brand of
food. That's important for the vet to know this.  It's also important for
the vet to know that your kitty is losing weight on the new food.
At the vet appointment, they usually weigh your cat and record the
weight. At least that's what my vet does.  I wish both you and your kitty
luck , but please take her in to be seen by your vet.   Eve ( mother
of Sammy the cat )

She isn't throwing up anymore. On the previous food she was , but on her new diet she isn't.

What I meant, is it ok that she's losing weight on the new food?

Hi, if your cat is throwing up every day, then he/she needs medical attention.  That is not normal!

How old is your cat?  Is he/she still grooming?  Going to the bathroom normally? Playing?  Sleeping in unusual places(for example-your cat is sleeping in the hallway, but has never slept there before)?

These details will help us figure out what could be going on?  Bottom line, your cat needs a vet regardless of whatever we can guess that's going on with your cat.
