Stardust cute and all that stuff

Erik and I are preparing to move back to MN in a few months, however, he had to go back without me, since he found a job. He left yesterday, and since then Stardust has been a real cutie.  She knows I miss him and when I was getting ready to go to bed last night she did something I have never seen her do. She ran upstairs ahead of me and laid down in Erik's spot and waited for me to come into the room.  She called me into the room, and she slept there all night long.  She never sleeps with me all night long.  When I work up to go to the bathroom she meowed at me again. She went back to sleep and was super cute.  I think she misses Erik just as much as I do and wanted to show me she could take care of me.  She is such a little cutie.  Does she realize I am sad or does she just miss him?

I'm in agreement with the thought that our little companions know us, love us and care about us, in their own way.

Today I was really missing Erik and I started crying.  Stardust heard me and she came running right after she was done eating.  She looked at me for a second, and then she jumped up into my lap and started purring.  I instantly felt better.  It was very cute that she cared so much.

She doesn't like me to leave for any reason, maybe she thinks I am going to leave, too.  She just wants me to hold her, and she gets up and checks for her pet daddy every time she hears a noise outside.  She is very protective of the computer, because that is where she sees daddy.  She's always been a needy cat, but she is really missing daddy.

Mercifully you 2 have one each other to make situation less painful.
So they chat on line? I always knew cats are creatures intelligent enough for using modern tecnology tools :-)

I think its a little of both.  Cats can pick on your feelings and they can have separation anxiety when a person leaves the house. So she probably misses him too.  When my daughter went to college, my cats started sleeping in her room.  I dont know if I had ever seen them do that before.  They can smell the person on the bedding and their clothes.  So they like to lay on things that smell like their pet parents when they are gone.  Its very sweet.

For the past 3 nights she has barely let me out of her sight. She has been laying by the door hoping that Erik will walk through it. He and I video chat on skype nightly and she also talks to him. She pays his video on the computer. She also rolls around on the computer and purrs.
Sometimes she cries for him to come home.
