peeing siamese

We have a 1 yr old siamese/ tabby mix. She is an indoor at and likes to use the bathroom anywhere she wants. she poops right outside her litter box and pees in the downstairs bathroom, or underneath one of our couches. Also if there is a blanket or robe on the floor she pees on that. We have another cat that doesnt have any problems and she cant seem to follow his example. There isn't an infection as far as we can tell. Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with her to get her to stop?

Yeah I will try that. The thing is is that she HAS grown up with the male, theyre the best of friends and its impossible to tell which one is "in charge". I've never seen two cats love each other more than these two. They're both fixed so no problem there. But she was doing this in the month before they met too. She is so cudly and cute that cuddling is never something thats hard for her to get. We just did a deep cleaning of the room, and i think it has helped a bit. Thanks for the advice, we'll have to try a few new ideas!

Is this a new behavior or has she always done this? I think I would first take her to the vet and get her checked out to make sure she doesn't have a UTI or anything. Sometimes it's hard to tell. I couldn't tell with my cat when she'd get one except that she'd go outside her box. I'd do that first and if that all checks out then it looks like it's probably behavioral, which could be more difficult to stop. Try and think if anything new has happened in the house. Is this other cat new or have you had both of them grow up together? Are they both fixed? Is the male cat more dominent over the other cat? Sometimes one cat will keep the other from even using the box. It's like they stake territorial claim over it! One thing you can try is two litter boxes. That way she can use the one she wants and won't feel threatened with the other cat and the one litter box.
You may have to shut her up in a room for awhile with a litter box, food and water to kind of force her to use the box. We had to do that with our cat. Make sure she's still getting attention and affection though. We put our cat in our bedroom where there was a lot of sunshine (she loves to lay in the sun) and a clean box, food and water. But I'd still go in and pet her and give her attention. We did this for about 3 weeks while we cleaned the carpet real well several times with a carpet cleaner and aired everything out real well. Then we let her out gradually but just upstairs for awhile where I could keep a better eye on her because she was only peeing downstairs. It did seem to help with us doing all of this. It's worth a try.

Make sure you clean everything real well where she's peed and use a product with the pet enzyme to help remove the odor like Nature's Miracle. If a cat keeps smelling where they went before they will keep going back to that area.
I hope any of these ideas help! Give it all a try and let us know how she's doing.
Best wishes.
