HPV strain found?
“This test was performed using the APTIMA HPV Assay (Gen -Probe Inc.).
This assay detects E6/E7 viral messenger RNA (mRNA) from 14 high-risk HPV types (16,18,31,33,35,39,45,51,52,56,58,59,66,68)”
What exactly does this mean? I plan on following up with my physician and ask more questions, but does this mean they only detected strain 6/7 or did it detect the bad strains? My physician said follow up in a year and that there were no abnormal cells.
I had an abnormal pap (probably in 2014 or 2015) but they blew it off saying we would monitor it and did not use the words “high-risk” is it possible it’s still same infection? I’ve only ever slept with two people one of which cheated on me (2011-2014) and my partner now where it’s monogamous and we’re talking about marriage. All STD tests came back clean, I THOUGHT I had the HPV shots in high school, I called today and find out I never finished the series.
I have a lot of anxiety so can someone shed some light on what exactly these results mean??

I don't see any mention of your specific results. All it states are the types of HPV the test will detect / include.
Cervical cancer is rare and regular pap smears catch abnormal cells in plenty of time to treat since cervical cancer typically takes many years to develop from abnormal cells (dysplasia). Therefore, in my opinion, the HPV vaccine seems overkill especially with the adverse effects the vaccine can cause.
Guidelines for pap smears were changed from 1 year to every 3 years because too many women were being treated for abnormal cells that would typically resolve on their own, no intervention needed.
If you did not receive your specific results (maybe you don't have HPV at all) you should check with your doctor.
