9th Child !! WOW...no wonder your symptoms have worsened.....goodness!
Are you sure the herniation got larger? It is very possible for the images to miss- represent the length depending on if the slices/angles are done differently....so they can appear to grow OR shrink when in fact it is just the way we are looking at it.
If your INS will not cover you can go thru NIH to see if you fit criteria for clinical trials......and or clinical studies....they do them on Chiari to gain more info..
Thank u so much! Well I talked to billing earlier and it's gonna cost 6 thousand dollars out of pocket for the surgery so I guess I don't have a option at this point anyway lol! I don't think my symptoms could get any worse selma! I have everything except headaches thank God! I just started developing more syptoms since my ninith child ! My herniation went from a five to a eight in four years! Selma I just want my life back! Thank u for taking out your time to talk to me
There is no way to know for sure if you will develop a syrinx or not...since you do not have one now you could continue to be monitored with MRI's if symptoms change.....
I had surgery since the symptoms I had cause injuries that required surgery....and I wanted to prevent a syrinx from forming.....my CSF flow was obstructed pretty bad.....and I do have several other issues going on that helped me make my decision to have surgery.....I have no regrets.
We are all different and have to look at each person differently......only your opinion matters
Thank u so much! Iam using dr Richard Jackson in Dallas! He was sent to me by God truly I prayed for signs and everything turned to him! I have with him,. I don't have many headaches and I am scared that I will start having them. What r the chances of that happening? And what are the chances if I do not have the surgery will I develope a syrnix? My dr doesn't seem concerned that I will develop a syrinx. What is your opinion on this matter
Hi Jenn...I know how confusing it is as Drs do leave the decision to have surgery up to us....only in a medical emergency would a Dr make the decision for us.
Research Drs and make sure the one you are with, is a true Chiari specialist and is well informed on Chiari and ALL related conditions and well experienced. It is very important to rule out ALL related conditions b4 considering surgery.
