Thanks! I am still not sure if that means this is what is causing my headaches or not. Your explanation is a lot easier to understand!!!
No worries...it could be the reason for ur HA's...as the CSF builds up as a result of the blockage it creates pressure.....
It could also be due to related conditions too....EDS can cause HA's...ICP, can as well....so, sometimes it is a combo of issues and not just chiari all by itself.
Dr Oro's office called today and said all of that is normal. That I need physical therapy for the reverse curve in my neck.
Well that is good news...huh? DO u have loss of cervical lordosis as well?
I had this and PT can help....and this can cause a lot of pain and issues in ur neck and shoulders....if ur have a cerebral herniation do not let ne one manipulate ur neck....they can do this working on the muscles in ur shoulders and upper thoracic area....
Dr oro is absolutly fantastic. I trust him to the fullest. Glad to hear he's your ns. He knows what he's doing. Good news for you. Its hard to find a pt that knows chiari tho. Good luck and know if they r touching head or neck or pushing u than they r in the wrong. Hugs my dear,Dana
I don't know if I have that or not. I am hoping the PT works for me!
He is so very knowledgeable. He makes me feel at ease, however finding someone that knows about chiari for PT is going to be a tough one!
Well u said to reverse the curve in ur neck, so u must have lost the correct curve...that is called loss of cervical lordosis, it can come from whip lash...I had it when I was in my teens from a MVA.....and PT did help with that issue, did not help my chiari, but I did get relief from the other issues.....
and it is hard to find PT that know chiari...back then I had no idea I had Chiari so the treatment I had would not be advised for u....or me...lol...
But there are things u can do to help work on those muscles and retrain them so they stop twisting the wrong way,....
Keep us posted on ur PT : )
I will!! I sure hope it helps! I am getting pretty cranky being in pain every single day of the week!! I love this forum!! I get answers and the support from others facing the same thing as me!!
Glad I was able to share that with u....my cervical spine was curved the reverse way so far that I was told it looked like I was kicked by a horse....I also had an indentation at the base of my skull where much of the pain seemed to come from....
I was very grumpy when I had that too....so know it is not u, but a reflection of how u feel...
Hi...it is saying u have restricted flow....biphasic...means 2 phases...the CINE MRI looks to see if the CSF pulsates...so this may pertain to how it is moving....as apposed to pulsating.
Dorsal = posterior..and this is where most of us have the restricted flow....
