I have had so many surgeries ... decompressed twice, countless shunt replacements / revisions .. I couldn't even guess how many. But my surgeon recently thought I'm allergic to silicone ... we tried a course of steroids that I guess proved my symptoms were caused by inflammation so both my silicone shunts came out (I had both an LP and a VP) and the VP shunt was made out of polyurethane. I had this done last Wednesday, the 29th of March. They always have to do a stealth CT before surgery and the last line on the report is: Stigmata of Chiari malformation remonstrated.
I've have been having headaches and nausea.I'm not even a week out of surgery but does anyone know what that "redemonstrated chiari malformation" means? It's really creeping me out. I'm seeing him tomorrow because of some post op issues. My whole body is swollen and that's never happened before.
