Is it Chiari?

I went on carnival rides Aug 14th.  I got a terrible headache the next day, then blurred vision, numb tingling hands and feet, the back of my head and neck hurt so bad you could not touch it!! Then I got a lump feeling in the back of my throat which made it hard to swallow.  Long story short....two trips to the emergency room, a CT scan, two MRIs and xrays, show I have a 2.5mm herniation of the cerebral tonsils through the magnum foramen.  The report says no definite chiari malformation identified.  I also have Klippel Feil, fusion  of disc c5-c6.  I am still in a lot of pain and every day is different.  I am looking into a neurosurgeon in my area that is interested in chiari but it will be a while before I see him.  I am at a loss of what is wrong with me and starting to wonder if anyone will ever help me.

  We do not have a listing for MO....sorry...are there other states you can travel to?

Check with your ins as to where they will cover you and where you are willing to go.....I went out of state and have no regrets as I know I had some of the top Chiari specialists helping me.

I live in missouri.  I have found a dr in columbia mo at neurology inc.  and have an appointment  at the end of september.   If you know anymore plwaae let me know.  If this is why I am on so much pain I want to know.  Thank you!

Many of us have been thru many Drs b4 finding one that is well informed and experienced with Chiari....if you would like names of Drs to research let me know where you are and I will try to find names for your area. Be advised many of us do have to travel to get to a true Chiari specialist
