Chiari and Motorcycles

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone knew if Chiari symptoms will prevent me from riding motorcycles pre-op. I am a service member so it will take at least another month before they approve me for surgery. I use to ride every day whether it was on my own or as a passenger. For me honestly, being on a motorcycle makes me feel great. But as soon as I get done with a ride I get headaches. But that part doesn't bother me. Again, I just want to know if it would be safe for me to ride.
Thanks!

Pre op. Post op they don't have a problem with me riding. You're welcome my friend.

I spoke with a LCDR about it and since I haven't had certain symptoms he cleared me to ride. But like you said, gotta look out for new ones that can possibly pop up :)

Hi MotoGearhead and welcome to the Chiari forum.

I want to first thank you for your service to our country <3

Did you mean to ask Post op?.... as you said pre-op.....

Either way it really depends on the symptoms you are having....pre op I had drop attacks so it was not advisable for me to drive anything period....and still is the case as I also have depth perception issues.

Only you know if you feel safe with the symptoms  you have...and keep in mind with Chiari new symptoms can arise at anytime..........

Do you have a surgery date? If so, please post it in the list your surgery date 2016 thread for a prayer thread to be posted for you
