I was also just diagnosed last week with inappropriate sinus tachycardia as well!
I get my blood work today for the thyroid issues and the results from the ultrasound sometime this week.. I'll update when I know more..
Along with Chiari, I have: EDS/Stickler's Syndrome, Cranio-cervical Instability, Retroflexed Odontoid Process, Basilar Impression with pannus. **whew!**
Hi...since I was having heart palps and was scheduled for surgery my PCP sent me for testing on my heart, one was a ultra sound of my carotid arteries, and they could see something on my thyroid, so I was sent for more testing ....blood panels that only TSH was looked at, and it appeared normal .....but, I had been told about Hashimoto's and had my free T3 and free T4 and TPO anti bodies checked along with TSH...and it was found I had it....I was then placed on synthroid and was on it until I was 6 months post op, and ever since had not needed the meds...no growth to the nodules to date....
Make sure they r testing u for an auto immune thyroid condition, and not a reg thyroid ....with Hashimoto's we can flip back and forth btwn being hyper and hypo....so it can be hard to figure out.
I noticed you have a thyroid disorder... I was wondering how you found out about it.. through blood work? ultrasound?
I recently had my 2nd MRI of the cervical spine and incidentally 2 thyroid nodules/cysts were found and the Dr. who interpreted the report recommended follow up with an ultrasound. In Sept of 2012 I had a very thorough blood work done and my doctor said he checked in depth with my thyroid b/c I am very skinny, but the blood work showed no abnormalities with the thyroid just a B12 deficiency..
I just got these results today.. Is it possible from Sept to now to have a change in my thyroid blood results? I am going to get a script for an ultrasound and more blood work today or tomorrow, but am very scared b/c if I have no abnormalities in the blood work.. could it be thyroid ca?
I have got basilar invagination and that is it far as I know.
I have chiari, basilar invagination, eds, raynauds, autonomic dysfunction, tachycardia, occipital neuralgia, b12 deficiency and waiting on results of slep test for sleep apnea
Hi yes these conditions are related and y I am always saying to get tested to rule them out as they can affect how u feel and heal post op especially if u r not aware of them as the Dr does need to take precautions in order to help avoid set backs.
I have Chiari, tethered cord, EDS, cervical stinosis, cerviocranial instability....Hashimoto's.....
To date I have not been DX'd with POTS or nething in that area....I feel many times the negative post op issues r due to related conditions unknown, rather then a failed surgery....JMHO
