Hi...it doesn't sound that crazy to me.....it is possible you have a thyroid condition related to Chiari....Hashimoto's thyroiditis is an auto immune condition many times overlooked, When having testing done, make sure they are looking at TSH as well as free T3 and free T4.....also look to your families medical history for insight there.
Outside of thyroid issues , I have not heard of any CHiari related hair issues.
Yes ,my hair comes out in handfuls ,but only on the right side of my head ,speaking to other chiarians who have the same symptoms, does make me wonder if it is a symptom of chiari?
Nope, my NS does not believe in it and a proper CINE is not even available in my country he said... so that's why I would need to go elsewhere.
Perhaps you know what the best place is to get a good quality cine mri? I am considering TCI or Dr. Oro at the moment. I think TCI can even do the upright mri.
I have to agree with Pam,it is not that we r attracted to bald men...and please, my DH has the belly but has hair and wish for his health he would get rid of the belly...lol....
But just to have surgery to help with some symptoms may not help, sometimes u can end up with more afterward.,..so u want to be sure u r doing it for the right reasons, how this affects ur health as well as how it makes u feel is very important.
Did u have a CINE MRI yet?

Not all women are attracted to bald men with a belly! LoL! It just stinks that we have to make such drastic decisions to get proper care with this illness. I hope that it doesnt come to that for you. But I understand the need to try to feel better at any cost.
Pam
Thanks Selma :) I understand hairloss is more of a problem for women, not so much for men. I guess you women must be strangely attracted to older bald men with a belly ;)
I never paid much attention to it until my hairdresser told me to see a doctor. I got some stuff to treat any fungal infection or immune response in case that causes it. We'll see what happens..
Perhaps I am just looking for reasons... My NS here in Europe told me after 1.5 yr of doubts that I do not meet requirements for surgery, so I am yet again in the "now what?" stage.... I am seriously considering to sell my home, cross the pond and just pay dr.Oro to open up my skull at the moment...
Hi...I do not dispute what u r finding and I am sure u r correct...as we r all diff u just may be affected more in that area then the rest of us...I for one do and did not have that issue...being female I am also very glad....not saying u r happy one bit ....but it can be more stylish on a male if u get my drift : )
It is unfortunate , but I feel we r more informed than most of the drs as to how chiari will affect us, so we can add this to the manifesto of issues/symptoms in my book.
