Cyclical Chiari Monster

I have been away for awhile because I haven't been having any symptoms.

In the past month my symptoms ahve come back.

1. My left side is going numb again
2. I LOVE my CPAP machine for sleep apnea (It has worked wonders on fatigue)
3. My career is suffering because of my lack of focus and concentration. Totally unlike me; however, I just don't CARE anymore. Just want to craw into bed and sleep.
4. My HAs aren't bad at all compared to before. Just a LOT of pressure in my lower neck.

Most of you know me. Hey ladies :) but for those of you who do not, Hello!

My last non-contrasting test showed no spinal blockage. I need to go back to CC. Uhhh, what are your cycles LIKE? I don't like it.

Whit

I am soooooo with you on this one!! (and many others...LOL)
ALL of my scans show "everything looks good" "no problems" ......really?!?! then why the @#$% am i in such horrific pain, walk like im stoned or drunk, cant look up at the sky or kiss my husband because i get stabbing pain if i tilt my head past a certain point!!! (by this point im near tears because im so angry!!!!!)
then again......some days are manageable. I stay away from narcs since i take care of my lil Bean during the day and my other is in school til 3. once the hubs walks thru the door, i either have a glass of wine or take my lil pill and put myself to bed.
I too do not know and am having a difficult time with the words "take it slow", or "in moderation" or even better "just do a few things a day and REST...." LOL......AHAHAHHHHAAAAHHH  rest......i doubt it.  I guess the nanny fairy will bring the cleaning fairy and her buddy chef fairy into my house while i "rest" and tend to all this crap i have to do since i sit home all day and cant work.
ive been high speed since i can last remember. Soccer tournaments, flying across the country for regionals, National Team tryouts, running, training, cop stuff, more training.....now it all goes to a screeching stop. huh.....now what?
I just kno when im going to have a better day than usual after i wake up. typically if i get a few hours sleep then i manage. ive learned my limitations (temporary i hope) and have to remind myself that if i push it - i dont only suffer but my family does too.
who wants to be around a cranky, miserable chick who snaps at every little thing?!? not me. so i have to just be aware....take a step back and re-evaluate my life for now. it may not be the road that i want to be on right now, but eventually i WILL get back on with MY life as how i want it.

you can do this......at leasts that what im telling myself today ;)

Oh I know and I got Tboned this weekend...been in bed the whole time on meds...I avoid meds as much as possible...so u know it is serious pain.

I am not sure , but feel it may be related to my TC.....

As far as I know, and how unfortunate it is, many of us will continue to have pain and issues long after surgery  as a result of having related conditions...as well as nerve damage.

Just know, u r better than u were b4 and do things in moderation : )

Seriously. It has taken me a while to register the fact I am always going to be in pain. I will have the typical good days, do everything, then crash. But it's hard for me because I still have it in my head I had the surgery and now I should be ok.

hi whit and welcome back!

i think all of us go thru those cycles!  the weather most def. plays a role in how we feel....especially the cold and wet!  sorry to hear you're having symptoms again, but glad to have you back on board!

I was dx'd last winter. Seems like my symptoms are virtually non-existent in the late spring and summer. They reappear in mid-October. I'm still learning the rhythm though. I just had some lumbar x-rays to figure out why I have Symphysis Pubic Dysfunction that won't get better. I stopped seeing NL this spring because symptoms were dissipating. I didn't figure it would do any good to go when things were clearing up. I live in NW Ohio, so we have big changes from one season to the next. Do you live in a similar area? Do you notice an increase in symptoms with weather changes?
