Diagnoses

I have had a headache for a month straight. I have been to the E.R. more than once. I have had CT scans and M.R.I.s I had a fusion done in my neck 8 years ago and was told that I had Chiari Malformation 1. I was told it us nothing to worry about. With my current headaches I have had more MRIs and CT scans. One hospital said I have a 6mm herniation. They called it Mild Chiari. I next hospital did a Brain MRI and a back MRI and specifically said no Chiari. I am very confused on what to do next..please advice. I live in Michigan

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
The hardest part of Chiari is not only getting a DX but a Dr that truly knows and is experienced in treating it....and until we find that Dr we get all of them that have no idea what Chiari is or how it can and does affect us and they tend to dismiss or play it down.
First request copies of ALL MRI's and testing you have had to date and going forward always request copies of the test as well as the reports...this will expedite getting help from Drs that are true Chiari specialists.

Have you had a CINE MRI?
