Dr Sarel Vorster at Cleveland Clinic

Dr Vorster spoke at the conference last year about the pitfalls, dx and treatment of Chiari Malformation. He sounds like a nice guy and a knowledgeable doctor.

Has anyone here used him in the past? I'd be curious to hear your input on the experience from any who have utilized his services.

If you aren't familiar with him this video is rather interesting.   It makes me more relaxed about my upcoming appointment with him.

Many times we meet Doctors that are 'perhaps' great at their job. Yet not so great at truly understanding all the related conditions that we deal with on a day to day basis.

These Doctors can be great people even though perhaps not the right fit for a Chiari patient with several related conditions.  Unfortunately, this describes this doctor.  He seems like a genuinely nice guy.  But after meeting with him I can NOT say that I'd recommend him to anyone unless your only issue is Chiari Malformation. I my issues where just Chiari I may go back to see him. However, how many of us only deal with Chiari??

Anyway, please do not take this as a condemnation of what may be a decent guy. I just feel it is necessary to add this post so as to not let anyone see my question and in any way think that it is a recommendation of this NS. It most definitely IS NOT.

Hi CW, I am looking forward to watching the video and I am glad you found this to put you at ease with your visit with him.....please keep us posted on how your visit goes and your view on him after meeting.
