Ehlers–Danlos syndrome - Think this is me! Now 2nd surgery?

Can I avoid a second surgery?   Or is having EDS going to be the cause of having to fix things?

I've already had duraplasty but at the time I had no clue about EDS, but now I'm convinced this is me!  I am that double jointed person!  Move my fingers in ways that would freak you out!  I have fatty lumps and just very flexible!

I have the bovine patch!

I have become worse off since the surgery!  I am seeing a new surgeon Jan 9th and he has already looked at my MRI and his assistant stated that according to his notes that he noted a second duraplasty is needed.

Is there any way around this?  Or am I having issues because of the bovine patch?  I thought bovine was very close to us humans...ha ha ha!  So my question is, will I have to go to have the patch replaced do you think?  As the date gets closer to see him, I'm wanting to back out!  I do not want to go through this again!

Anyone know what "lack of low to left vertebral artery" means?  That was on there as well.  My NL was freaked out about that and wanted me to see another surgeon right away regarding that.  I declined.

Hi...ur dura patch can be the cause of ur issues...and I also have EDS and my surgeon used my pericardium to avoid issues like u r having.

As for The vertebral arteries they are two major arteries that carry oxygen to the brain and spinal cord, so with one blocked this is not good at all and u deff should have this addressed.

Make sure u see a Chiari specialist.

I was scheduled to go through the testing and see surgeon Jan 8th but my employer just gave us new insurance cards.  I noticed I have a new provider and now my doctors are no longer covered!

I called University of Chicago and they are going to see me, so I'll have to talk to them and see what they say about testing.

I have EDS/Stickler's syndrome....Geneticist is still unsure about which one as I don't "fit neatly" into either dx.  Have you been to a genetic doc?  I would strongly suggest that you find out if you, indeed, do have an underlying connective tissue disorder as that could change the protocol for your upcoming surgery.
