Hello. As I read what you are describing about your head pain/numbness, I realized that I had a similar sensation. I didn't know how to describe it. I hope you are feeling well today. It was good reading that you are going to see a new NS. I hope you feel comfortable with him/her.

I got a new neurosurgeon because Dr Bejjani said nothing is wrong and everything is ok without looking at me after driving 3 hours to see him. He said it was my parkinsons . My family dr said I need to get this checked out so he sent me to a new neurosurgeon so I got a copy of my operative report and a new mri . He said he didn't want to make any decisions without the report and an mri. My family doctor seems more concerned  about my chiari than my Parkinson's. My new neurosurgeon said I should also think about Deep Brain Stimulation for my Parkinson's so I am going to discuss it with my movement disorder specialist.

Hi Mike....I have not had the numb sensation since I recovered from surgery....glad you will be getting new MRI, is this the first since surgery?

My post op MRI was a yr post op...I know if there are issues some Drs do them sooner.....each Dr is different as to when they do them.

May I ask why a new NS?.....Keep us posted and Good Luck.

Happy New Year !!

Hi. I have not yet had my surgery, but I experience what you are talking about. My numbness can come before the headache though - or after. Its like I can still feel everything when touched, but the sensation is very odd - like numbing from the dentist is wearing off - only its all over my head. Its from my face, hair, chin and jawline, and even my neck.

I have craniocervical instability as well as Chiari. have you checked into that? It could certainly be other things as well but it might be a good idea to check into it if you have not.
