What do you have for a shunt? I am so sorry that things are not working out as you hoped. I am walking down that same path and quite sad and confused about things right now. Had my decompression just over a year ago, had a pseudomengecele repair the end of June, resulted in chemical meningitis, then emergency brain surgery two weeks ago and am now waiting through some things to see how things go. Weird night headaches with pressure on the front of my head, I am crossing my fingers that I will not require a shunt because it seems everything that you hear about them is bad. My NS says it would be a shunt though in my back instead of my head??? I have no idea, I only know I don't want one. I feel like you, I thought things were going to help and I feel like I have only made my life worse so far. I just want to feel like I made the right choice. This process has proved to be very long and very stressing and some days I find myself wondering what it would be like to feel like I did before the first surgery. After three surgeries I am just stressed and afraid of another one! What type of pain do you have from your shunt? I wish you well, the Chiari journey is long!
