How long did your surgery take? The day is almost here..

I have a quick question for everyone. I am going into surgery on Monday, October 6th. I wanted to ask everyone how long they were in surgery. I know it's different for everyone, and no one is the same, but I wanted to get an idea of how long I should tell my family it should take, just an estimate..  Thank you in advance for your time and help! God bless!

Your Dr should give you an idea and an average time frame is 3 to 4 hrs....some of us will take longer, my surgery itself was to be 4 hrs and went on for 7.5 but I had tissue harvested which I am sure added to the time...I also am hard to wake up after surgery,...lol....anytime I can get sleep, I take full advantage...lol...

As you mentioned we are all different and so are the Drs so time can vary with each Dr too and then what they find once they get inside...sometimes they find things they did not expect.....

Do not try to focus on all of that tho...just on feeling better...and getting that part behind you.....

Hi Sarah,
When I asked my husband about my timeframe in surgery, he told me that I was taken at 8 am and brought to my room just before 3 pm. That time also includes the time I spent in the recovery room. So overall I was away from my family for 7 hours. But wait for other responses to get an average time. You are one week away! I am 2 months post-op today. I had a good experience. Would I do it again, you ask. Yes!
