Just an update

Hi all, I posted a couple months ago about son, 23, who was facing his second decompression surgery. His symptoms had worsened after doing a landscaping job and the NS is very conservative, but finally said a second surgery could be done due to the severity of increasing pain and symptoms, it's believed to be due to scar tissue.
So, right after the appointment, my son was fired from his job - they said he had too many "limitations" but he'd never asked for accommodations for his pain; it's a long story and kind of BS in my opinion. However, it appears it was a blessing in disguise. The gabapentin began working better at a higher dose, his symptoms after he lost his job have decreased dramatically. He decided, after much thought, to cancel the surgery since he was feeling better.
I just wanted to pop in and let everyone know what happened as last time I was here we were headed for that second surgery. Best wishes to everyone...you are all in my thoughts and prayers as the fight continues.

Hello.... justed wanted to say that once I changed jobs and got into one that did not require lifting (15-25 lbs) I felt very much less symptomatic.  Til this day, if I lift anything of substantial weight I become very symptomatic and it will last for a minimum of 2 days.  Glad to hear he is feeling better.  There is a weight restriction of lifting 5lbs w/Chiari I was told my NS.

Hi....I am so glad to hear he is feeling better....and I am well aware how what activities we participate in can affect how we feel.

It does sound like a blessing in disguise.....

Thanks for letting us know about the canceled surgery....and I do pray he continues to feel better.
