Low oxygen saturation

Hi! I've recently been checking my pulse etc on a pulse oximetre and noticed that my sPo2 is rather low. My pulse usually lies aroun 50-60 but my spo2 can go below 80 and I don't notice at all. I'm not breathless, or feel like I'm struggling for breath. I sometimes notice being really lightheaded and when I check my my o2 is very low (below 80). But it can hovering mid 80's-90's and then go up to 97 and then within a few mins back down again. I thought the machine might be faulty so have tried on a few others too and have got the same result. And I don't have nail varnish on or anything like that. Could this be anything to do with chiari? And what could my doctor do about it? Thanks

Hi.... do you have issues with sleeping or feeling refreshed after a nights sleep? If your blood oxygenation levels are low it could be sleep apnea....and many with Chiari do have it....so do talk to your Dr about this and have testing to rule out sleep apnea.

Thanks for your reply! I do have trouble sleeping but mainly due to pain and restless legs. But my oxygène levels are low in the day just as much so I don’t think junk it could be? I think I sort of forget to breath but all throughout the day too - could that be still be sleep apnoea?
Well there are different types of sleep apnea, central and obstructive and there may be one more.......But not sure how one with sleep apnea may be affected during the day.
Restless legs is associated with sleep apnea and sleeping issues that I know the sleep clinics treat it.....Do talk to your Dr about this.
