Medication

Hi all,
My pain management doctor has me on Methadone at night and Loratabs for break throgh pain. Is anyone else on the Methadone? It helped some at first and now not so much. I had my decompression operation in June of 2009 and my tethered cord operation in 2010. I am having a mini bladder sling operation on Wed of this week, please keep me in your prayers. I am a patient of Dr. Di at the Cleveland Clinc, I saw him the week he left and he took me off the Methadone and had me try a new pill. He said if that did not help to go back to the other pills and make an apt with him in Feb when he has finished his relocation. Well the new meds did not work and I will be going back to see him. I also have an apt with a Neurologist in Feb, been waiting for 5 months for this app so so better be good. His name is Dr. Sowell @  Uof L Hospital, anyone from Ky been to see him?

Thanks to all,
Tina

Yes my boss is great. If not for him understanding  Chairi, I'm sure they would have fired me already. Last year I missed 4 months of work as the year before. I would love to stay home and see if that helped me any. After my operation my headaches did get much better for awhile. The last couple of months they are coming back, I mess up on my words..I know what I want to say it just dont come out that way sometimes, the blury vision after on the computer for a few hours. I will be seeing Dr, Di once his new office opens. Hoping he can help find out what is going on.

Before my TC operation I had...bladder issues, bad bad leg pain and the back pain. After my operation my legs are much better and as is my back. I do have pain sometimes but nothing like before. I am having the mini sling operation Wed for my bladder issues. My bowels has also improved after the operation.
I have to work ..my husband was hurt in Iraq and he can't work so that leaves me. At times my job is stressful, I am responsable for inventory in 4 warehouse across the state. It is so hard to do sometimes because of the head pain, blured vision, and getting dizzy. Pluse I get tired so fast. But my kids need a home so I have to deal with my pain and get up at 5 every morning for work. One good thing is my boss read everything he could about Chiari so he understands and helps me out.

So with all that said....lol...I think my pain is from my Chiari.

Well I wonder if there may be something else going on....I am almost 2 yrs post op and am on Topamax for the last 3 months....I do not have HA's like prior to surgery....as long as I do nothing, I am ok, the more I do the more I am in need of meds....

I still have lower back issues....bladder issues....bowel issues, and my legs bother me.....I get these muscle spasms in my back, but the drs have not figured out y, or what is causing them....

Do u think the pain is more from the TC or chiari?

I am on the methadone and Loratab for the headaches. Sometimes they are so bad I can't move. The decompression surgery did help some,  still get bad headaches.
I am very happy with the TC operation. I can now sit for 30 min without wanting to die! My legs feel better and I don't have the neck pain as bad as I did. I would do that all over again. What does everyone else take for their headaches, I kinda feel like a drugie now that you said you don't know of anyone taking them after their Chiari decompression operation. But it seems the only thing they have found to ease my head pain.
