Parkinsons

I went to see a N/S this past week and he said he thinks my problem may be that I have Parkinson's disease. He said my symptoms don't seem to be chiari related. He put me on medicine for Parkinson's. Has anyone else been told they had Parkinson's ? Now I have to go see a neurologist next month.Boy I tell it gets better all the time. I'm getting tired of seeing doctors. This will be number 4.

Hey Mike, I too have Parkinson's like symptoms.  I am going to a new neurologist to be further evaluated.  I also have Chiari Malformation with a 9mm herniation that is most likely causing some of my issues.

What diagnosis did you end up with since you posted on here?  Are you still using Levadopa?  If so, does it help?

They use the BEIGHTON SCALE to test.....http://www.hypermobility.org/beighton.php

There r also symptoms that can indicate EDS....bruise easy, slow to heal, ....skin that scars easy, ...there r a number of them, and by no means should u just look at the chart of the Beighton score and think that is not u, try all of them, as I found out I am more flexible then I would have thought.

I have tremors as well, memory issues and had very slow movement b4 I had surgery...as I felt I would fall going faster....

I was told my tremors could be associated with my EDS dx....have u been tested for EDS?

He said with my tremors and slow movement and memory problems it all points to Parkinson's they put me on levodopa to see if it helps and if it does than it is Parkinson's. I guess its trial and error.
