Post Surgery

I had surgery 7 and a half moths ago and I have been going  to a neurologist and have had an eeg and an mri done but I am experiencing dizziness worse than before and headaches about the same as it was. Also I am very much tired almost all of the time. Will this ever go away? I don't mean to complain I am so very much thankful and blessed to be alive but I am very much tired of this literally!!!!

So glad to hear your test came back good.  It does take time.  As for today I am having a bad night due to over doing it.  I love to be in my garden and I have to learn when to stop.  My DH reminds me to sit down and rest.  One day at a time.

This means so much to me!!! So many people going through what I have and still going through. Thank you for your prayers and support!!! A little while after I had my surgery my insurance ran out because I had lost my job so because of money issues I was never able to go to my follow up with my neurosurgeon. However, he did recommend me to a headache specialist and later on I was able and blessed to see him but he is just treating my headaches. None of the dizziness or weakness or anything like that. And yes I have an eeg and an mri done and they have both come back normal fine.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

Recovery can take time, and what u r doing in ur daily activities can affect this ...
It is possible for u to have some post op issues ...but from what u said it could be more what u r doing at this point.....

Have u been to ur NS post op? Have u had a MRI since as well?

Congratulation on your surgery I want to tell you I have been on here many times through out my recovery and have said and asked the same thing that you have.  I felt yah I had surgery "Why am I not feeling normal again".  I had so many supporters tell me and reassure me that this is normal to feel this way.  There is 4 stages that we go through as Selma explained to me and it helped me so so much.  I can't remember all 4 of course due to Chairi but I know fllustation is par of the course.  I want to reassure you that I am going on 2 yrs anniversary come Sept and I do have better day's that I enjoy.  Once we have Chairi we will most likely always have it.  Having surgery isn't a cure sad to say, but it does help.  I still have day's I still have to take it easy because I am as stubborn as a mule and I think I can conquer anything.  It's learning it is O.K. to have those bad days and look forward to the good ones.  There are many of them out there for you it might just take a little more time.  Please still try to avoid lifting, bending is a big one for me still, and just overdoing it and listening to your own body.  We are all different, but the same in way's of what we deal with.  My heart goes out to you and just want to let you know brush off the bad day and get some rest and tomorrow I pray will be a better day.  Good day my Chairian friend :)

Did you have surgery w/a Chiari specialist?  Did you have those symptoms before surgery?
I know that recovery can take a long time, especially if you don't take very good care of yourself.
I'm just 5 wk post op, & I'm already weary of recovery, yet there is no escape.  Wherever you go, there you are.

I hope it does too because I feel so out of it and stuff and almost depressed. Sometimes it feels as though as I might pass out or that my limbs go limp from being so dizzy. Is this normal as well?

So sorry u are going through this... Unfortunately surgery isn't a guaranteed fix :( but u are still in a period of time that could be considered too soon to see results as i seen many say it can take 2 years to recover. Maybe after some more time it will get better. I hope it does for u :)
