It really upsets me to hear u had a Dr that u could not feel comfortable with in even asking questions....u may want to send a request for a copy if ur surgical report this way, ur Drs caring for u going forward will know what all was done.
if u have ne more questions please feel free to ask <3
Sounds so typical for most Docs. That's sad to say. Anyways I sent you a PM :-) Lisa
I had the surgery Oct 7th and although my Neurosurgeon is experienced (he averages about 30 of these surgeries a year, and has been doing this for 20 years), the bedside manner leaves something to desire (kind of feel like if I ask a question, I shouldn't dare, because he acts like he is God and doesn't make mistakes) and didn't get much info after I was released from the hospital as to what to expect during the recovery period. I found this site while searching for the info in my first post. I found out about the Chiari 7 years ago through an MRI-didn't realize my symptoms were related until about 2 years ago.
Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
I hope we can help u right here....as many of us have had surgery or a family member that has.
Complications are as individual as we are...it all depends on what other related and unrelated conditions u may already have that will determine how well u do with this surgery...and who ur Dr is and how experienced they are can help minimize complications too.
Are u scheduled for the decompression surgery? May I ask how u found ur Chiari, what symptoms prompted testing?
