Every time I have that second guessing going on, I picture how my tonsils are indenting on the brain stem. And, how this has affected me every single day this year. It helps to shake off the doubts. (But, hey! I have the whole weekend yet to fend of any of those feelings!)

Read my journal, I was second guessing when I was rolled into the OR.....it is natural to do.
Luckily for me, the anesthesiologist was very kind and in talking to him helped calm me down, and I remembered what it took to get to that point, and that I did not want to end up paralyzed with a syrinx.
Just remember the journey to this point : )

That stinks. I know it takes some of us a long time to decide if surgery is right for us or not, and to have to wait that long.... Mine was scheduled for this past thursday and it was cancelled the day before and I am already starting to second guess everything!
i can't believe its going to take that long to get you in!! thats just crazy to me!!
my doctor and i finally decided on surgery on a monday - and my surgery was scheduled to two weeks later!!
are you able to ask your doctor if there is another hospital you can use!!?? mine uses two different hospitals - so if one is 'booked' he tried another one!! just a suggestion!!
sooo frustrating for you im sure!!

attenuation means loss of intensity........
Definitions of cervicomedullary junction on the Web:
the junction between the base of the skull and brain stem and the cervical spine and spinal cord.
[ser´ vih koh med´ you lair ee] Where the extension of the spinal cord becomes the medulla oblongata of the brain
THanks--Selma, how about this:
There is attenuation of the CSF
space ventral to the cervicomedullary junction
Elizabeth--Dr Di told me not to hold onto the number either ... that it didn't matter--all about symptoms. So, you and he agree!! :)
i think you need to call dr dr and ask him what this means and why he did not explain this to you when you saw him!!! also, do not put a whole lot into the difference of 2mm on your herniation. it could easily have been the machine, the slice that was read or just the was it was measured or how the radiologist himself read the report. my herniation measured just under a cm during surgery and was measured on different mris prior to surgery anywhere from 3mm to 1cm. so again, don't put a lot of weight in that! your increase in symptoms is most likely from the compression on your brainstem or blockage of csf and the natural progression of the beast!

WOW..that is a ways away...goodness.....I pray it can be moved up for u.
I am not sure if the small right mesial temporal lobe is like a mid line shift.....???
Glioma is a brain tumor....but it says low grade, and probable, so it sounds like further investigation is warranted on this.
I am just guessing here...and do not know for sure......
DID Dr Di go over all this with u?.....I wonder what his thoughts r?
