Symptom relief!!! PLEASE!

My goodness, I am trying to be careful but we have to keep living right?! I attend college and have a spunky oversized for his age 3 year old. My good days are becoming fewer and fewer and my doc can't seem to stop being a self absorbed *** and I feel like I am getting no where and waisting time with him. Although with my insurance I don't have a ton of choices, plus it seems like NO ONE is taking new patients when I have called in the past AND who's to say another doc would even be better then the one I have been going to. Dizzy, nausea, fatigue, depressed from feeling so crappy I don't want or have the energy to do anything, headaches that linger and as they say increase with sudden certain movements, my neck shoulders and upper back are tired of holding themselves up and are always so stiff. This *****! DOES ANYONE have any input for things you do to manage your symptoms. I am undiagnosed but 90% sure I have Chiari and am currently trying to see a specialist for chiari since it seems to be pretty un heard of, but I need to do something for now so I can take care of business without suffering through every day. PLEASE any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Oh my gosh I can't believe I didn't realize PCP. My goodness! Haha! Yes you are right the squeaky wheel does get the greece. I have always been known to sometimes be too nice, but I am done not pushing harder, I am calling again today. Thanks selmaS! I have already seen one NS, he told me that the dilation in my spinal cord was normal. That finding is what sparked my interest to look into this, before I thought it was from my bulging/deginerative discs in neck and low back and scoliosis that was causing it all till I checked out the chiari, because you mentioned it, and looked at and compared my imgs to others and the symptoms were like someone sat down and wrote them as I listed them off, also peoples stories of docs thinking they are full of it and then come to find out they have this horrible thing wrong. Ill call every day if I have to! =) Thanks selmaS! Have a great day!

PCP= primary Care Physician  they over see all ur medical care.

We all have to look at what we do and how it affects us...and avoid those things that really take the wind out of our sails ....that is until we get a Dr that understands and even then some of us have related issues that we still have to modify our activities to be able to do big  events and plan days after to rest up.....

It is in finding the right drs and getting the dx....then u will know what is next for u.

As one member said on her thread she had to be forward in order to get an appointment the NS said she needed after a MRI....push to get what u need, a squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Hey Selma,

Yeah I am still waiting to hear from the doctor. I sent emails and called etc.. I had the cervical done late 2011, along with thoracic and lumbar. The thoracic showed a 3mm dilation in the central canal of my spinal cord and the NS told me that it was normal. I uploaded the images to the site. I don't know what to do at this point. I do take hot baths, or showers, I have a jacuzzi tub in my front bathroom. Although it only helps at the most up to 4 hours after. I am unsure what a PCP is but I will do my research and definitely ask for one. Anything at this point. I, like I am sure many, many people are, am just so tired of feeling like crap all the time. I am rarely having good days anymore, although I could chop that up to the whether changes...? I just have so much to do all the time, and I will push through like I always have but I just feel like is this it. Will this just get worse? I have big dreams and am a very smart and talented person, I don't want to waste away. I am about to go on a dang cussing rampage with this doctor for not taking me serious. I have been very patient and kind but its not going to remain this way much longer if they don't get their act together. Thank you for your dedication and reply as always selmaS you have been a little blessing in my life. Thank you.

Alison

Hi...the best thing to do when u r having a flare like this is a good soak in a warm tub or a warm shower to help relax ur tight muscles.....

No bending, lifting, pushing....sit and ask ur son to crawl onto ur lap instead of picking him up...explain that "mommy has an ouch" and how he is helping u by being a big boy....at 3 he will understand and be willing to help u out.

How is ur PCP in rxing tests like a MRI?...have u had a Brain MRI yet?...a cervical spine MRI?....push for ur PCP to do one of these for pain....and request copies so u have them to get opinions from specialists.
