Syrinx and using my neck

I was told straining my neck wouldn't make it worse . Do you say is that true? I know it's been a long time. I have a C2 Syrinx. Posttraumatic SCI. I got a Laminectomy to try help symptoms. My surgical site got infected, so they had to reopen it, wash it out.  Symptoms didn't improve. So my Dr. put a shunt. My symptoms still are worsening. I don't know what to do. I can't move a lot since my SCI. I just wanted to not feel alone. I'm terrified of loosing my ability to breathe. I already can hardly feel my face. Symptoms I have seems more complicated. Ringing in ears, blurry vision, taste and smell come and go. My mouth goes numb. Face symptoms started on the left, now both.

With a syrinx, you can have symptoms as you described due to pressure of the syrinx on your spinal cord and brain stem. Doing anything to/with your neck can affect it, so not sure why they said that...if it was completely healed that would be a different story, but you have infection which also means inflammation in a tight area due to the syrinx so  your advice they gave you puzzles' me.
Stress will also affect you, so do try to relax the best you can....know you will have these sensations until you get the syrinx to shrink and infection cleared....nd even then some symptoms may remain....

I don't have a infection anyone. The Syrinx isn't going away. I'm super stressed about it. Using my neck and shoulder make it worse. Even though my Dr said it would you be ok.

Any changes in neck position may cause discomfort and also put pressure on nerves in the area of the syrinx which can cause any number of issues depending on the nerves affected.
