Worsening of dysautonomia following decompression?

Hey guys i have dysautonomia not POTS specifically but very similar. My pco just told me that having decompression surgery can actually worsen my dysautonomia if it turns out is not my hindbrain compression of the chiari causing it. Anyone with thoughts on this subject or past experiences? Did it actually get a little better after surgery or worst?

Hi,

I was told any symptom we have prior to surgery could possibly worsen post op as it is very difficult to know what condition, when we have more then one is causing the symptoms.....so many conditions cause many of the same symptoms.

I did not have dysautonomia , but did notice some symptoms seem to worsen after a few months, but then with time, they too faded.....it took several years to see all the benefits from my surgery.....it is not like flipping a switch, it doesn't happen all at once. For me it was gradual over time.....slow and steady.

We all have to weigh the possibilities of not having surgery and the what ifs as well as if we have the surgery what ifs....which is the bigger list of got to do it's......
