This looks similar to mine from the back. You want to pull a sagittal image off of your disk, slightly to the left or right of the brain stem. But, just judging from my personal MRI experience, it does look like a small herniation into the foramen magnum.
But, size does not matter. Its the blockage of CSF flow and brainstem compression.
You are absolutely right about those radiology reports not mentioning the Chiari! How frustrating is that when you read them?! As Selma indicated, look at the doctor list to find a doctor in the Chicago area. When you mention that your son's pulse can be felt in his eyes, I knew what you were talking about. When I get that sensation, I also feel intense pressure behind the eye. I hope your son's symptoms can be relieved with his meds or with ibuprofen. It is difficult to watch your son with pain. You both are in a very safe community with caring people to write to. I hope you find some peace here. You and your son will be in my prayers.
Thanks! I will look into the Dr listings..
Sorry can not tell from that view.....that is not one I am familiar with,,,,,
We do have a list of Drs and there is one in the Chicago area.....
I imagine there are other views on the disk of his MRI's.....and I am sure a chiari specialist will be able to read them for you.
