complete right lateral ventricle effacement

HI I am new here and have been diagnosed with Chiari and IIH, i have a vp shunt placed and a had a follow up mri that showed my right lateral ventricle was near complete effacement. Does anyone know what this means i have a follow up with my surgeon on the 15th but the nausea and head pain lately has been unreal.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

I am nota medical professional and am aware the word effacement is sometimes used incorrectly, so until you see your Dr and get his read of the MRI, I wouldn't try to read into the  verbiage.

May I ask, do you know if your  IIH caused your Chiari or your Chiari caused your IIH.?
