A CINE MRI is a MRI done in real time, a movie, or moving picture to see how the cerebral tonsils move with ur BP and how it affects the flow of CSF...still imagines taken with a MRI can be deceiving as it may capture the CSF getting thru, and in the next few minutes it could be restricted....so a CINE MRI is a good way to see how CSF flow is functioning.

A lot can change in short time with Chiari....if ur symptoms have not changed then that could indicate no changes, but a MRI is the only way to know for sure.

I am doing pretty good thanks : )

No I used to have bloods done on every visit when I went every 3months my yearly check ups are normally a chat, no bloods! My last MRI was about 2years ago!

I don't mean to sound silly but what is CINE?
I know my Dr said on my last app they would MRI again before my hubby and I try for a baby

Hope you're well x

It is good to know ur symptoms have not increased.....and good u go for yearly checkups.....do they do a CINE MRI to see if u have a CSF obstruction? Have they looked for a syrinx by doing cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine MRI's?

I hope all goes well for the Oct visit.

Hi! Thank you so much for replying - my symptoms are headaches ranging from mild to brain exploding, occasional dizziness, eye twitching, muscle flutters (especially in thighs, ties and fingers), numbing feelings in my limbs and sometimes my speech is slurred. These have not deteriorated since 2007.

Ive got my yearly appointment on 31st October x

Hi and welcome....know u r not alone, even in the UK as there are Drs that do know and treat Chiari....have u looked at the list for the Ann Conroy Trust?

Use this link to locate a list of Chiari Drs and there is a link to the list for the UK....http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/list?cid=186

May I ask what symptoms u  r experiencing and how u r feeling? Many of us have had children b4 getting our DX so it is possible, but again, it all depends on how u r doing now b4 u get pregnant....some suggest u have C sections to prevent the bearing down and strain of natural childbirth.....not saying it can not be done, but it can trigger ur Chiari to worsen.

Try and look up Drs from the Trust to see if they can do more testing to see if u can have a safe pregnancy .
