thanks stormy we have so much in common
Definitely...in fact that is what I suffer with most since post op. I am also in the process of possibly being dx'd with EDS or a connective tissue disease...these seem to go hand in hand with Chiari. My pain is everywhere bur it started in my neck and down my left arm, it was sobad I knew there was something wrong. I now have a lot of trouble with pain in my legs too. One thing I have noticed is that the muscle/joints/tendons have been weakened and that could be the cause of the pain too. If I was u I would start looking into getting tested for hyperflexibility. Have u noticed that ur joints r quite flexible? Mine crack, pop and definitely extend too far, I have to be careful not to put too much strain on them. I hope u get some answers soon!
Stormy
Joint pain? YES. My docs are trying to rule out EDS. My hips and mid back have always bothered me, ever since I can remember.
Well u can have swelling with EDS as well as pain....not sure about the itch...could be an allergy????
My joint pain started in my right elbow, and my dr thought I may have a hairline fracture from a drop attack...an x-ray said no...and more testing resulted in the EDS dx.

i have arm and shoulder pain. i was told it is a nerve beeing pinched. i have pain swelling and itch. mostly on my upper arms.
Hi...yes, I also get joint pain...but was dx'd with EDS/Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and that is the reason for my joint pain.If u have not been tested for this, u may want to ask about getting it ruled out.
Many with chiari do have EDS as well.

yes, initially i had joint pains in my hands along with weakness... that has since went away but was quite strange.. not sure why it happens though.
I would like to say hello and also to let you know you are not alone. I suffer daily with pain in my arms and legs. The medication the neurosurgeon gives me does even touch the pain.
