need to find a list of neurologist in San Francisco bay area

looking for info for a good neurologist in the San Francisco Bay area of CA,,, since my surgeon wants me to see one,, but told him yes I am all for that, but I will only go to one that has experience with CM/SM, and not just a handful of patients and they added expert onto their bio, do not want one just practicing, told him want one who has seen at least 50 patients, he was silent at that point!! I was sent to one a few yrs ago, it did not go well, the neurologist was clueless on my condition, I left there in tears he was so rude, and in his report started I was basically crazy and all my problems are a figment of my over active imagination! I will never go to another to be treated like that!  Any thoughts are appreciated!!!  Thank you!!  So many battles with this, am getting to tired to fight much more of it to be honest  :(

Hi a link to a list of Drs is on your other thread. If,there is not one listed for the area close to home, you may be like the rest of us that need to travel to get to a Chiari specialist.
A lot of online articles suggest Chiari is rare, the only thing thats rare are well informed and experienced Drs.

oh you crack me up!! But aint it the truth!! Dr's are the ones more rare than our problems, that made my day, thank you for the good laugh, I needed one :) you would think with all the people here in such a huge metropolitan area like San Francisco, and all of the ultra medical universities spouting how great they are,,there would be at least 10 with some good experience, but so far batting zero to 1, not good odds!  Back to my laugh :) that was the best one I have herd in the past 3 yrs!!!!!! Thank you, hey, You have a Merry Christmas Selmas, just pray you can find some comfort of knowing you will be in my prayers as I pray daily there will be a cure found for us, and some help!  I read one Dr's notes said we suffer 100 times more pain than any cancer patient, and I believe he is right!!  many hugs dear!!! one minute one day one hour at a time xxoo <3

   So  glad you enjoyed that...lol...

But  as you  said  it is  true...I  find  much  humor  in truth....seems  that  is where  it  hides....

Most  of  us  need  to  travel  to  find  a true  Chiari  specialist.....I  did  and  I even  drove down  onto   Philly where  I  was  told  there  was  a specialist  for Chiari....unfortunately he  was  lost  on what  was  going  on  and  said " it  is  above  me"  and  he  had  no  suggestion for  whom  to  try  next....that  in  itself was  a clue  to  me anyway he  was not  a true  Chiari  specialist  just  a NS  that  does  Chiari  surgeries....and  we  all  need  a true  Chiari specialist  as  there  are  too  many  other  issues possible  and  the Dr  needs  to  be  aware  and  experienced in order  for  us  to have  a positive  result  from treatment.

Hope  you  are  having  a Merry  Christmas  as well. I  have  added  you  to my  prayers as well. I know there will not  be  a cure for us, treatment yes,but maybe  a way to prevent  others  from developing this condition  is my prayer....I know  you can not  cure  a malformation ,if this was an illness,,,yeah....and I  agree  we do  suffer  far more then  most  Drs would consider is possible  from this condition.

Please keep  me posted on your  Dr  search.
