Does anyone else wake sometimes soak and wet in the morning from sweating? Sometimes I wake in the morning  wet from sweating I wasn't sure if this could be chiari related.

I wish I had an answer. I had surgery 19 years ago. I am almost 33 now. I just recently reread through my mri report from 1998 and the doctor had noted a small syrinx and should be screened for chiari malformation.  Long story short, I wasn't screened because the scoliosis was the bigger problem at the time. I was fused with 2 harrington rods t1-t12. After doing a lot of research recently, because of the mri report, I've come to the realization I may have to be checked for it. The issues everything has caused me...ugh....but...could be worse and it's not so im thankful. Anyways...one of my biggest Baines of my existence is my ridiculous night sweating for absolutely no reason at all. I have had every blood test done under the sun and I'm all in normal ranges. So...after reading this thread....and being that I'm not really a firm believer in coincidences...so...I totally wish I had an answer for me just as much as every single one of you.  But...I feel your pain....

Hi Bjld_88 - I have had issues with getting hot too, and my Dr said it was due to me having a neurogenic bladder...and the signal that I need to empty my bladder gets misdirected and I feel hot instead of feeling the urge to go and empty....so if I get to feeling extremely hot, I go to the restroom and get relief from the heat. For those with Chiari, tethered cord, syringomyelia should have the testing done to see if they may have this issue as well....just a thought...as I know it is possible your issue could be totally different.

YES!!! I have this problem, only at night, and I frequently wake up soaked literally, to the point of having to change my clothes and sheets and of course shower because I feel so gross!and it's almost every night...very few that this doesn't happen at least waking me two or three times a night! I have not had surgery..but I do have chiari.. dont know if thats what its from or not..I was told my neck compression could also cause this and annoying doesn't quite seem the right word! Lol!. No matter what I wear! The problem is I am always freezing so the night sweats bothered me for the longest so I tried freezing myself a few nights with less covers, even down to just a sheet and still had the same problem! I was told of course by the NL & NS that it was not a big deal just live with it! Yeah, right! It's not them having to deal with that along with waking constantly at night due to vertigo! My washer and dryer are going to give out way to soon if I don't get this under control! :)

Oh yes Mike! My head always. At times to the point of having to flip the pillow to keep from sleeping on a wet spot. Now when I flip onto my back then it spreads to my head, neck and chest. Chest will sweat to the point of waking up with a puddle between the pecks. Only when I manage to sleep deep enough to end up on my back though. Again, always the head sweats and only at night.

Sweating seems to be a common symptom; some here have posted excessive sweating 24/7.

I have the opposite problem--I get overheated & don't sweat, which feels terrible.  (also wakes me up).  My BP & body temp is all over the place too; all that is dysautonomia.

No I haven't had surgery but I was just wondering if this is normal. And my bp seems to be up and down. I'm not sure if all this is related to chiari. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving

I had this issue after surgery and I acturally thought I was starting my change so I had my hormones checked.  My PC told me it is probably my body trying to adjust from surgery.  I know it isn't your hormones mike and I can't remember if you have had surgery, but this could be the cause.  I don't have them as often now and it has been 2 yrs now since my surgeries.  Hope this helps.
