regretting it....

Hey guys...I know Ive been silent around here lately....I had my follow up appointment with my doctor just over a week ago, he said it looks good and approved me to go back to work. I was a bit nervous to go back, but also excited. I had been hired by a company, and was excited!

Now, shifts were to be 6 hours long - which I could manage. However, when I got there they told me for the week of training it was 8 hour shifts. But I figured, I just needed to suck that up and do it - after all it was just one week.

But I think I overdid it..I seem to be "relapsing" or something...my incision area is quite swollen, so I have spent as much of yesterday and today horizontal. But I am concerned I hurt something - even though I was careful not to do anything too strenuous.  The air pressure here has been changing like mad my head has been going nuts since yesterday - I seem to be involuntarily flexing a muscle in my sinuses...should that be a concern? Also, some of my struggles with singing seem to be back (BOOOO) - everything seems squished.

Perhaps this is due to the swelling...so I guess my question is...is a swelling this this somewhat normal when you start to do things again? Or should I be concerned?

Luckily I now have a couple of weeks off (strange how that worked out haha!) and am able to rest up....

What do you guys think?

So happy to hear you have a couple of days off to get some rest.  Selma always reassured me that getting back to a routine does take us time and we tend to do to much when we shouldn't.  Take this time and relax and hopefully the swelling will go down.  I know at this point with me the NS said the muscle have to reajust themselves back into place the muscle in the back of the neck is the size of a quarter.  That's quite big to consider it has to remember what normal should feel like.  Hoping for a better day ahead for you.

Hi....how long post op r u now?....and what duties r required for this new position? Depending on what u r doing it could be that coupled with the hours as u r not used to being that active as u have been resting...or should have been...and it can take some time to heal.

Many of us around the 3rd month post op can have some symptoms re-occur and it is "normal" and part of the healing, however, u do have to look to see is it worse then b4 surgery and does it last longer, if not if it nothing to worry about, and the more u do the more u may feel it.....

Weather may continue to be a factor as well.....

I pray u feel better after ur rest and ur new job goes well <3
