zipper scar? ?

Hello my physical therapist was telling me  the surgery if end up having to get it. Will leave a zipper scar.

   Hi.,...most  members  that  have  had  surgery  have  them  posted  on  their   profile  page....some, like  myself  require  us  to  be  friends  for the pics  to  be  visible...so  if  we  are not  friends  yet  send  me  a friend  request  and  you will  be able  to  see mine.

  Each  Dr  is  different  in  how  much  hair  they  shave off  and  sometimes  it will  depend  on us, the patient  how  much  may  need  to  be  removed.....as  in  my  case,  I  also  had  tissue  harvested  for my  dura  patch so  the area  shaved  was larger then most  as  was my  scar,,  but  I  did not  have staples  for the same  reasons  as needed the  tissue  harvested  so  my  scar  does not  look  that much  like  a zipper....

Where do we go to see photos of scars?  I have an appt w Dr Frim and haven't decided about surgery, and of course the scar is the least of my concerns, but the vain part of me wants to know what to be prepared for.

I was fascinated by the incision. Mine was very straight and healed at a good rate so far. (My surgery was 3 months ago. Being a "Zipperhead" gives you the advantage of finding people like you and knowing that you are not alone.

PS I grew up in the Philadelphia area. On South Street, there is a store that is called Zipperhead. I have been away from the area for a long time but I wonder if the name has any significance for the owner?

   Hi...yes  that  is  what  it  is  called  bcuz  of  the  staples  it   resembles  a  zipper....we  refer  to  ourselves  as  zipperheads,....

  Most  of  us  do  have  pics   of  our  scars  ...take  a look....it  will  be  covered   by  your   hair  once  it  grows  back.
