18-month-old vomiting at bedtime for no apparent reason

I have an 18 month old son who recovered from the stomach flu about one week ago.  For the past 3 nights, he wakes up 2 hours after we put him to bed, and vomits up his whole dinner.  He is otherwise fine, no diarrhea, no fever, normal during the day.  He is not on any medications, and he has been drinking milk fine up until this point.  Is it possible to "develop" an intolerance to milk?  Anyone have any insight as to what could be causing this?  Thanks.

It could be that he is having trouble since the flu at laying down flat at night and it is causing a reflux problem.  While it may be milk related (you could stop the milk just before bedtime to see if it makes a difference)I would definitely take this up with your pediatrician.

And it is possible to develop an intolerance at any stage of life.  But if he can tolerate milk at other times it is probably not that.

I agree about milk but also you may want to do his dinners at an earlier time to allow him to digest.  That happened to my Son a few times.

The enzymes that digest milk live in the top layer of the stomach lining.  If your child has been vomiting,  the last food you introduce is milk,  because he has vomited up the enzymes to digest it.

Wait a week and then try to re-introduce milk.
