4yo daughter eats and plays with her poop

My 4yo daughter has autism. Is it normal for autistic children to eat or finger paint with their poop? She seems to mostly do it out of boredom when I am not giving her enough attention. I have tried making her diaper area not accessible. I have tried putting her in time out and smacking her hand. I don't know what else to do. It is so gross, and becoming a regular thing

Well, it's honestly up to you. As she is autistic then she probabsly doesn't get that she shouldn't do that. Maybe make sure that when she does a poo change her as soon as possible or make sure she has something else to do. Don't smack her hand, don't put her in time out! She has autism! That will upset her!
