4yr old hides when eating

my 4 year old neice hides behing the couch or in my bedroom or anywhere she cant be seen when eating any food.  She barely eats any solid food other than mangoes, yoghurt, popcorn and lives prodominantly on bottles with milo! her mum is a meth addict (but does not acknowledge this or even admit to using that much) and refuses to allow the father or grandparents to see child, generally 1 day and night per month is the only time spent with the child. Why does the child hide to eat and what are the consequenes now and in the future?  Bulemia; Annorexia??????

ha!! how i wish that was remotely possible!  I have restraining order on the mother as she breaks into my home, steals my belongings (she stole my xmas presents my mum got for me just recently) and causes general violent disturbances wherever she is, she is a severely drug addicted person at this point and it is imposiible to have a rational or logical encounter with her at all!

It is heart breaking, I can see you care a lot so how about you ask the mom to take her out to parks, walks, to your house for some nurturing, I think you visit so maybe see if you can take it further, ask the mom to allow the granparents more access .

"Child Protection" as theya re called, not they actually do any good for anyone, have already been involved and decided it was fine for the child to remain in the care of the mother despite the mother failing every urine test she was required to give as per court orders!!! Its appalling!  My brother wont take any furhter court action against her as the last time he did she disappeared witht he child for 8 weeks then took a restraining order out on him then came to my house to see him then called the ppolice and my brother was arrested and sent to jail as she refused to leave MY house which was also where my brother was living!  The child's mother is poisoning the child and there is nothing any agency, the police or laws seem to be able to do about it!  Therefore, the child suffers and lives a toxic, damaging lifestyle forced upon her by her disgrace of a mother!  It is truly heartbreaking :(

I think that the father/grandparents should take out a court order to be able to have visitation rights, this child may need help, perhaps she is not offered other food , its good she has you to speak up as thats what you must do.If you are concerned and get nowhere with the mom , CPS will make a visit and check on her ..Good luck
