Constant Nausea

My daughter has had constant nausea, now for about 3 months.  I took her in to see a Pediatric Gastroenterologist, he performed a endoscopy on her and after the test was done he informed me that my daugter had some stomach inflamation and almost an ulcer he suggested her to just take Prevacid. Is this good enough? I feel see should be given some type of anti-biotic of some sort. Not just prevacid for the acid reflux, since she did show stomach inflammation. She has been taking the prevacid for about 2 weeks now but does not seem any better.  Should I get a second opionion. And does his diagnosis seem correct. I forgot to mention, before the endoscopy was performed he also did an ultrasound and said she had a small case of H.pylori, which I have heard should be treated with anti-biotics.  I just want my daughter to get better, it's so difficult to see her go through this everday single day.  Please Help!!!

Just wondering how your daughter is doing? My son has had the constant nausea for a good year and a half. He has been diagnosed with abdominal migraines and anxiety. I don't think anyone really knows what's wrong with him. He has to sip on a sprite and carries it with him everywhere he goes not that he gets out much! He was homebound last year and hopefully we can get him back in school this time. He has been on mirtazapine for the past 3 months and it seems to help a little but not with the nausea just the anxiety. He told me he gets anxious from always feeling sick at his stomach. He has seen every kind of doctor you could imagine but, they never did a scope even though he saw the gastro. Now, I'm wondering if we need one to rule out an ulcer. If you see this, please let me know what you have found out about your daughters treatment. Thanks

If children are diagnosed with gastritis and no duodenal ulcer, there is no reason to think that treatment with antibiotic will help. Perhaps this is why the doctor is treating only with acid suppressant. However, when H Pylori is present and a duodenal ulcer has been diagnosed, triple-agect therapy would be a sensible intervention. The treatment would consist of (a) Clarithromycin, (b) either Metronidazole or Amoxicillin and (c) Acid Suppressant. It definitely makes sesne to arrange a second opinion.
