Is my son autistic or is it something else ?

I have a 4 year old son who cries and screams all the time through out the day about little or nothing . He repeats his self over and over and over again when he wants something and I don't do it right that second . Repetitive things like calling my name, telling me over and over what he wants . Its just gets overwhelming and frustrating some days . His doctor said that he could be autistic and I've just started seeing a psychiatrist for him but it's a long process when your trying to figure out what's the problem but at the same time trying not to label this as the wrong thing . I wish I knew exactly what it was and a way to help him .

I am sorry.  Somehow I missed your post.
There is perhaps nothing more scary then knowing that something might be wrong with your child and not knowing what it is.  I mean how can you help them, if you don't know what is causing the pain?

Hopefully, by now you have a bit  more of an idea what is going on.  But, just in  case this is an excellent explanation of Autism .....  https://www.aspergerexperts.com/basics/what-is-aspergers-syndrome/

And there are some books that meant for you to read (and practice) many times with your child.  Each of these links have other books listed that you might find more helpful depending on what you want to accomplish.  But they do work.  Read the reviews to get a better idea.
Voices are not for yelling,  might be a  good starting point.  ..... https://www.amazon.com/Voices-Are-Yelling-Best-Behavior/dp/1575425009/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1525385687&sr=8-4&keywords=hands+are+not+for+hitting
The Mindful Dragon: A Dragon Book about Mindfulness. Teach Your Dragon To Be Mindful  caught my eye for several reasons.  See if it or one of the others in the series would be helpful.  It can be found here....  https://www.amazon.com/Mindful-Dragon-Mindfulness-Mindful-Mindfulness/dp/1948040107/ref=sr_1_19_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1525385687&sr=8-19-spons&keywords=hands+are+not+for+hitting&psc=1

And there are things like Sensory Processing Disorder or even ADHD that can look a lot like Autism.  And its not unusual to have both or all conditions.  As you get more info, if you share - hopefully we can be more helpful.  Best wishes
