My 8 year old girl

I have a 8 year old girl that has some issues. She doesn't make friends very easy. She plays with 4 & 5 year old better than her peers. In our community there are alot of kids and they have started hating her and being ugly to her. She lies about everything and will do just about anything to aggravaite the kids. She only tells the parts of the story that she wants me to know about and still lies about that. She does pretty good in school with her subjects except math and she has a hard time focusing on that. She doesn't like to do anything around the house. I can tell her to clean her room before she can go outside to play and she will just in her room and not clean it nor does she act like she cares what I do to punish her in anyway. It doesn't matter what I take away or what I do. Nothing motatives her. Her behavior has caused alot of the kids not to want to play with her.

Is this normal?

No, it is not normal and invites evaluation by a pediatric mental health clinician. You are wise to see the difference between simply preferring to play with younger children and acting in such a way that her peers are turning against her. Relative to the behavior at home, instead of having her stay in her room until she cleans it, place her in time out for approximately 15 minutes, then offer her the option to clean her room. If she won't cooperate, repeat the process.

just have to say that reading your post...you are raising my daughter.  she is 8 and has the EXACT same problems.  she has been diagnosed with anxiety, depression, ADHD.  i can certainly understand your frustration.  let me know if you get any guidence.  my daughter is not on any medication but the problems just do not seem to be resolving.  i am afraid i may have to take that step in the near future if something does not change.
