Why is she telling these stories

I have recently become engaged to women who has a 6 yr old girl and a 2 yr old son.  Right now her 6 yr old girl is watched by her grandmother so that she can go to a better school system and we primarily see her on weekends.  Well for the past three weeks she has come out with some outragous stories, cutting her own hair and clothes, throwing huge tantrums, and just lashing out.  The stories that she comes out with are i pop pimples on her butt, and that I slap her bottom while she is sleeping.  I love both of those kids and would never do anything to hurt them.  My fiancee beleives me and says she does tell alot of stories.  i am worried about her because its geared towards me.  What can be causing this and why is she telling these stories.

The actual chronology may not be important in how she is viewing the situation. It is not accidental that you are the person she mentions in her comments. But the key point is that the separation is apparently taking its toll on her.

She has been apart from her mother before i came into the picture during the week for school, so i do not thiink its me. She was very good this weekend and is still always happy to see me so im just worried about her recent behavior.

She may view you as the reason she is separated from her mother and she resents this. It would be helpful for her mother to talk with her about what it is like to be apart during the  week, what feelings does she have about this, etc. It is very hard for young people to be apart from their parent for even a short time. This situation is clearly unsettling for her.
