agressive behavior

My son is going to be 7 in a couple of days, he has been showing really agressive behavior at school, he has never shown this kind of behavior before. he has struck 3 children at school, and today his teacher has said that if this happens again he will be expelled. i am trying to talk to my son that hitting is wrong, but he still continue to do so. i am so stressed out and become very emotional about it i do not know what to do. we just moved to a new city and he is attending a new school, can that be a factor? i need some help and the people at school do not offer any advice on where i can get help.

This school does not sound very supportive.  They may not like the hitting, but they should at least try to work with you esp if you are concerned, threatening with ultimatums is very devastating and stressful for families.   Yes, I could say moving to a new town could cause stress and also to a new school, that is a LOT of change for anyone of ANY age.   I would go over the teacher's head and go to the principal and let them know you are VERY concerned and waht can you do to help.  THis teacher I don't know if she has the authority to threaten to expel.

It's so hard....

What an emotional upset for you all. I would think moving to a new city, new school, having his birthday while in trouble and the thought of getting expelled is pretty scary for you both. It is so stressfull and really emotional to just move let alone everything else. I am so sorry to hear of no support from the school. It's hard because it;s easy for people to label the child as the bully or the bad parent. That is the last thing you both need is no support. I just learned about this website and look forward to getting good advice for my family. Just know you are not alone, and the fact you even wrote anything shows you are a caring parent. Get some good quality time in with your son and let him know your concerns about him, at seven he probably knows its wrong.P.SI hope he has a great birthday!!
