My 5 year old son is saying things that scare me.

My son has started saying things like, "You hate me", "I want to hurt you", "Would you still love me if I killed someone", and "My brain told me to say that".  I don't want to overreact, but I'm getting worried.  Should I have him evaluated by a child psychologist?

There may be more to this. You should have him talk to some body.

How long has he been saying this for? Is he monitored while watching tv? Kids tend to copy people to get attention but if you're really concerned about this, I would take him to see a child psychologist. Especially since he is so young and says that his brain tells him to say these things. Children usually don't have the capability to express these types of specific issues such as my brain told me to do it. It wouldn't hurt to get him evaluated. Put your own mind at ease.Take care.
