Code "42"

I have a 5 year old girl who's extreemly smart although she is struggling in school with her behavior... I'm speaking with a child pshycologist at her school and am getting her examined... they've given her a a code "42"... Any idea what this is saying about her?? Is a code really necessasry??

My child is not aggressive whatsoever....and I looked up the code and a lot of it is centered on aggression....She has a little sister that is now just over a year old and she has not struck her or anything once!!! In Pre-Kindergarten she kicked a boy in the knee once...but that was a year ago....I personally think the school is in it for the money.....She's an average everday child with high energy...it's hard for her to keep still...and that's probably the biggest problem she has....

Interesting,  in the Tulsa school district,  a "code 42" is a student assaulting another student.

Is that what's going on - is she physically aggressive toward other kids?

Can't you just ask what that means?  

It sounds like it's a specific code they use in your school or district for children they are considering moving to a different class or considering stronger options such as a behavior modification plan that involves going to the counselor during the day,  etc.

Just ask - I would think they'd tell you.
